Umar Abdullah aka “L” Debois, was born and raised outside of Philadelphia. He began singing around age 3. In his teenage years he became a multi instrumentalist playing just about anything he could pick up. In Los Angeles, Cali, he signed with “Island DefJam Records” but later parted due to differences. He later signed to “Val’s Artist Management” for commercial jingles landing spots for Slimfast, Coke, Cricket, and Dell to name a few.

In 2007 Umar embraced Islam and has since shared the stage with Zain Bhikha, Native Dean, Baba Ali, Allah made me Funny, and Khalil. He seeks to master the art of creating nasheeds with Voice and Drum combinations. Bridging the gap between entertainment and knowledge is essential to his mission.
