Waleed Basyouni is an instructor at the American Open University and the Imam of Clear Lake Islamic Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Waleed Basyouni obtained a B.A. in Usul al-Din and an M.A. in Islamic theology, world religions and modern religious sects from Muhammad ibn Sa‘ud University; he is in the process of completing his PhD coursework in theology. Waleed Basyouni is an instructor at the American Open University and the Imam of Clear Lake Islamic Center in Houston, Texas. He studied under and received ijazat (licenses) from some of the most outstanding scholars of our time, including Shaykh ‘Abd al-Razzaq ‘Afifi. He is an instructor for the AlMaghrib Institute, and frequently speaks at universities, conventions, radio talk shows, television programs, and interfaith events. He is a member of the North American Imam Foundation (NAIF), the Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America (AMJA), and Director of the Texas Da‘wah Convention. He has a reputation as a prolific, powerful speaker.
