We are asked questions sometimes, by non-Muslims, that involve falsehood (ex: How could you leave the religion of Christianity, where the bible only preaches peace and love, for a religion where the Qur’an is preaching hatred and violence?) We absolutely know this question to be entirely misguided, and the best way to respond to this type of question is as follows:

First, and foremost, is to let the people know that we are open to discussion. We want to discuss it with them. We hope to remove this “fog.” So, we should say to them, “Thank you for asking me about my religion…” and let them know that we are commanded to tell the truth, even if it is against our own selves or family. It is not an option for us. It is a part of our belief.
The next thing is we have the proof. Everything is authenticated and preserved in Islam. “What do you wanna check out? We have it.”
Finally, take the question and straighten it out and present it in a way that you can answer it, because you can’t answer questions that involve false statements. (ALLAHU AKBAR!)
